Deffet Group, Inc. is pleased to have been retained by The Forest at Duke to conduct an executive search for a Chief Executive Officer.
The Forest at Duke (The Forest) is an award-winning and vibrant not-for-profit Life Plan Community (LPC) located on a beautifully landscaped 47-acre campus in Durham, North Carolina, adjacent to the campus of Duke University and Duke Medical Center. Established in 1992, The Forest has had a close connection with Duke University from inception and continues its dedication to fostering purposeful, active, healthy and secure lifestyles for older adults today. The Forest is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the community in meeting the needs of the next generation. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this individual is responsible for the overall performance of The Forest and for providing strategic direction and leadership in achieving operational goals and objectives.
The successful candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s degree (master’s highly preferred) and ideally, a minimum of ten years’ experience in a leadership position, with a minimum of five years’ experience in a Life Plan Community preferred. Our finalist will excel at building positive and professional relationships with residents, team and board members, have deep financial acumen, and demonstrate futuristic thinking.
