The Grants Administrator is responsible for overseeing active and pending grants within the association. The Grants Administrator also actively seeks new grant opportunities. The Grants Administrator is responsible for the administration and implementation of the grant/contract cycle from application to closing, coordinating efforts across functions to support grant and contract fulfillment across all levels. The Grants Administrator will ensure grants or contracts are well administered and that all stakeholders are knowledgeable of federal and state compliance guidelines to support on-track, on-time, and on-budget implementation and execution.


  1. Manages all grant efforts and the logistics of implementing current grants.
  2. Enhances current funding models and develops sustainable and effective grant processes for the association and foundation.
  3. Develops internal processes for grants management and guidance documents for award management and administration. Develops and reviews templates and tools, grant/contract monitoring plans, reports, and adjusts as needed.
  4. Identifies funding sources and opportunities appropriate for programmatic needs. Maintains updated understanding of programmatic needs and funding gaps.
  5. Prepares proposal grant budgets in conjunction with Vice President and Legislative Council and President and CEO staff.
  6. Ensures compliance with approved project contracts, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
  7. Manages external reporting to ensure timely delivery of high-quality reports which meet requirements.
  8. Coordinates the signing of contracts and maintain files of original, updated, and renewed contracts.
  9. Prepares and submits periodic progress reports, budget modifications, and final reports/close out materials.
  10. Documents payments and expenditures and optimizes the grant administration process.
  11. Other duties may be required throughout the grant period.



  1. Ability to work well with diverse group of people.
  2. Experience in administering grants or programs in the health and human services area.
  3. Understanding of government contract practices and regulations.
  4. Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks.
  5. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with clear ability to use current electronic and app-based technologies.
  7. Ability to travel as needed to member communities, foundations, grantmaking agencies or association conferences, regional meetings, and events.
  8. Knowledge of healthcare and/or aging services preferred.
